The NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management is a globally recognised qualification for those who have Environmental Management responsibilities or anyone wishing to have a career in this area. The NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management covers the principles of environmental management and is relevant for both UK and international markets.
The NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management course consists of two units, each separately assessed.
This qualification is for aimed at anyone who needs to gain a sound understanding of the principles of environmental management and is relevant for both UK and international markets.
The qualification is:
❖ Relevant to anyone responsible for environmental management
❖ Ideal for managers, supervisors, or health and safety advisers
This course takes place over a five day period, followed by a revision day prior to the exam.
Unit EC1: Management control of environmental hazards
Management control of environmental hazards is divided into nine elements:
❖ Element 1 – Foundations in environmental management
❖ Element 2 – Environmental management systems
❖ Element 3 – Environmental impact assessments
❖ Element 4 – Control of emissions to air
❖ Element 5 – Control of contamination of water resources
❖ Element 6 – Control of waste and land use
❖ Element 7 – Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency
❖ Element 8 – Control of environmental noise
❖ Element 9 – Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies

Assessment Type
❖ EC1 – Open book online exam
❖ EC2 – Site based practical risk assessment
EC1 assessments are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH. These examiners are chosen for their experience and expertise to ensure that learners are assessed by the very best from our industry. EC2 practical examinations are internally assessed and moderated by external moderators appointed by NEBOSH.
Qualification Grade:
The qualification grade is based on the results from Unit EC1 and EC2, with the marks added together and a final grade awarded as follows:
❖ Distinction: 144 marks or higher
❖ Credit: 125 – 144 marks
❖ Pass: 105 – 124 marks
£980 plus VAT – includes exam fees, course materials, lunch and refreshments.
