The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work from Reynolds Training is for anyone with First Aid responsibilities at work.

First Aiders are at the heart of great workplace safety. The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to ensure employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes appointing First Aiders who have received appropriate First Aid training.
The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) from Reynolds Training is a nationally-recognised qualification for those who have a specific responsibilities to provide First Aid at work. Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency First Aid situations, including:
❖ Managing an unresponsive casualty
❖ CPR
❖ Choking
❖ Shock
❖ Wounds and bleeding
❖ Minor injuries
Who is this course for?
Anyone who has a specific responsibility at work to provide help to others in a range of emergency First Aid situations.
Duration:
One day
Prerequisites:
This course is geared towards learners who are over 14 and who are able to perform practical tasks on the floor. There are no other formal entry requirements but a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy will be helpful.
4 x Practical assessments plus one optional assessment – observed by the trainer throughout the course:
❖ CPR and safe use of an AED
❖ Choking casualty
❖ Unconscious casualty
❖ Wounds, bleeding and shock
❖ Catastrophic bleeding (optional)
1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper)
❖ The maximum time allowed is 25 minutes. The minimum pass mark is 11 out of 15.
Successful candidates will have an understanding of the role of the First Aider and be able to adminster safe, prompt, effective First Aid in emergency situations. Specifically, they will:
❖ Grasp the significance of the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
❖ Develop the ability to assess an incident effectively.
❖ Acquire the skills to handle an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
❖ Attain the competence to handle an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
❖ Be capable of identifying and aiding a casualty who is choking.
❖ Gain proficiency in managing a casualty with external bleeding.
❖ Learn how to handle a casualty who is experiencing shock.
❖ Be able to effectively manage a casualty with a minor injury.
A SUITE OF FIRST AID COURSES
Learners may progress to other qualifications at
the same and higher level, such as Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid, both of which are avialable from Reynolds Training.
