High Hazard Industries deal with substantial amounts of hazardous substances, including flammable and toxic materials, which inherently pose a risk of serious incidents and accidents. To prevent these, it is crucial that there are systems and processes in place that effectively manage hazards, associated risks and safe work procedures.
This four day course provides underpinning knowledge associated with the core requirements in controlling work:
- Hazard Identification and Task Risk Assessment (HiTRA)
- Permit to Work (PTW)
- Isolations (Mechanical, Electrical, Process)
- Atmospheric Monitoring (Pre and during work activity)
This IOSH Approved course developed by ‘Reynolds’ utilises real world practical training and enables learners to put into practice the key principles of Control of Work.
Who is this course for? Those with responsibility for controlling and coordinating work activities within hazardous industries’.
Duration: 4 Days
Prerequisites:
None
- Provide a definition of the four key components of Control of Work (CoW) systems.
- Accurately identify hazards and assess associated risks, to generate a Hazard Identification and Task Risk Assessment (HITRA).
- Explain the process of planning, generating, and issuing Permits to Work (PTW) as an Issuing Authority.
- Explain the principles and practice of safe plant isolation – electrical, mechanical and process.
- Demonstrate theoretical and practical application of both gas testing and monitoring equipment as an Authorised Gas Tester (AGT).
- Officially manage hazardous activities through a controlled PTW as an Issuing Authority within your work environment.
