There are no specific skills, knowledge, understanding or any other qualifications needed, however entry to the qualification is at the discretion of the centre.
Assessment includes the following methods:
❖ Examining products of work
❖ Questioning the learner
❖ Discussing with the learner
❖ Use of others (witness testimony)
❖ Looking at learner statements
❖ Recognising prior learning
The workshop will:
❖ Introduce Ofqual’s role, aims and framework
❖ Describe the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) process and its benefits
❖ Described the composition of a RQF and the assessor award
❖ Introduce the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment standards
❖ Describe what competence is and how it can be demonstrated
❖ Describe the assessment process
❖ Introduce the learner’s portfolio
❖ Undertake assessment and knowledge syndicate exercises to build experience and portfolio
❖ Provide the learner with the understanding of how the assessor awards works within industry
❖ Discuss what happens next / action plan
