The concept of inherent safety and its application across industry forms the centrepiece of a new health and safety video released by the US Chemical Safety Board this month.
“Inherently Safer: The Future of Risk Reduction” focuses on the August 28, 2008, explosion that killed two workers and injured eight others at the Bayer CropScience chemical plant in Institute, West Virginia.
In this revealing health and safety video, CSB Chairperson Rafael Moure-Eraso thrashes out the findings from his company’s investigation and casts light on the potentially catastrophic consequences that the accident could have had on the surrounding community.
