NEBOSH training courses FAQ#2: What is DSEAR?

Q) NEBOSH training courses FAQ#2: What is DSEAR?

A) So what is DSEAR? Well let’s start by explaining what it stands for.

Take a breath ladies and gentlemen – you’re going to need one. DSEAR is an acronym for the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations.

Like ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ it is a bit of a mouthful.

That’s why we simply call it DSEAR.

Like a wonderful Sunday lunch, the importance of DSEAR must be digested with acute consideration.

DSEAR encompasses a set of regulations placed on employers – including the self employed – to protect workers and members of the public from risks posed by fires, explosions or similar events in the workplace.
