The GQA qualification from Reynolds Training will develop knowledge and skills in the principles and practices of internal quality assurance. Its primary purpose is to confirm the learner’s competence as a quality-assurer of work-based qualifications.
As a work-related, competence-based qualification, it provides confirmation to employers that the learner has the skills and knowledge needed to meet the nationally-recognised standard to carry out the role.
Who is this course for?
This qualification is intended for those who are in charge of maintaining the quality of assessment within an organisation or assessment centre.

Prerequisites:
An appropriate Level 3 qualification.
Unit 4 – Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
Unit 5 – Internally assure the quality of assessment
Assessment includes the following methods (although observation of performance in the work environment is not required for learners only undertaking the knowledge units):
❖ Observation of performance in the work environment
❖ Examining products of work
❖ Questioning the learner
❖ Discussing with the learner
❖ Use of others (witness testimony)
❖ Looking at learner statements
❖ Recognising prior learning
This qualification covers the following areas:
❖ The underpinning knowledge and understanding of the principles of and practices of internal quality assurance
❖ The planning of quality assurance
❖ Evaluation of the quality of assessment; maintenance and improvement of the quality of assessment
❖ Managing information relating to the quality of assessment and maintaining robust and legal quality assurance practice.
TRAINING FOR A LIFE-LONG CAREER
This Award is part of a suite of qualifications offered by Reynolds Training and developed from the Learning and Development National Occupational Standards (NOS) at Levels 3 and 4, which cover assessment and the quality assurance of assessment.
