The Managing Occupational Health and Well-Being course from IOSH helps managers to create a healthy and productive place of work, delving into:

❖ The different types of health hazards
❖ How to asses, control and monitor associated risks
❖ The different types of personal or health conditions that affect fitness or work
❖ How to asses and manage their impact
❖ What is well-being, and how does it add value to an organisation
❖ How to promote healthy lifestyles and positive mental health

Duration:

Prerequisites:

Based on the learning outcomes, all learners should be assessed in two ways:

❖ Knowledge and comprehension: Learners should use one of the two standard assessments under examination conditions, which consist of 20 questions in a variety of formats that can be completed within 30 minutes. (Minimum Pass Mark: 25/41)

❖ Practical application of learning: Learners must complete a workplace health risk assessment using the standard IOSH form. This is to be completed within two weeks of the end of the course. The project will be marked using the IOSH criteria and has a maximum of 44 marks. (Minimum Pass Mark: 26/44)

The course will help learners:

❖ Understand the importance of managing fluctuations in co-workers’ health
❖ Learn the considerations for a health needs assessment
❖ Discover how to recognise a ‘well’ employee
❖ Learn how to help co-workers return to work after illness
❖ Develop tools and techniques to improve health and well-being in an organisation
