During the course, learners will gain a better understanding of HAZOP as a systematic method to identify operating problems. Initially developed to analyse chemical process systems and mining operation process, HAZOP now covers many types of systems and complex operations in high hazard industries and sectors. It can be applied to any procedure, and uses a series of guide words to investigate process deviations.

The session is interactive and leads to the completion of a short HAZOP study, to embed the practical process and roles. There will be a end of course question paper to be completed within 30 minutes, with a minimum pass mark of 14/20.

❖ Understand how batch and continuous processes are studied using HAZOP
❖ Conduct and apply HAZOP studies in practical scenarios
