The Working Safely course from IOSH takes a different approach to safety and health training. Avoiding off-putting legal language, the programme is based on what people need to know in practice.

The main aim of the course is to provide learners with an understanding of how their actions in the workplace contribute to safety and health, ensuring that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.

Who is this course for? Perfect for anyone and everyone in a working role who wants to learn the basics of safety and health.

This assessment tests the course learning objectives and consists of:

❖ Part A – an invigilated, closed-book, end-of-course multi-format question paper
❖ Part B – an invigilated, closed-book, end-of-course multi-choice hazard-spotting exercise.

Both parts will be completed on the last day of the course and can be completed within 30 minutes.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

❖ Understand and explain why it is important to work safely
❖ Outline everyone’s responsibilities in relation to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
❖ Define key terms in safety and health
❖ Identify workplace hazards and risks, their impact and how to control them
❖ Describe ways safety, health and wellbeing are managed and improved within the workplace
