Prerequisites:
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Unit EMC1 – Environmental Management.
Unit EMC2 – Assessing Environmental Aspects and Associated Impacts.
- Justify environmental management in the workplace.
- Recognise which workplace activities may be subject to environmental legislation or enforcement.
- Assess environmental aspects and impacts and evaluate current controls.
- Support environmental emergency planning.
- Understand the importance of reducing environmental harm.
- Outline the issues associated with waste and its management.
- Explain the pros and cons of various energy sources and how to use them more efficiently.
Unit EMC1 – This taught unit is assessed by an open book exam.
Unit EMC2 – This has a practical assessment, designed to give learners the chance to apply their learning by performing an environmental review of their workplace and preparing a report which features recommendations and methods of improvement. This must take place within 10 working days of the written examination.
