Over a 2 day period, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including:

❖ Assessing an emergency situation
❖ Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child
❖ CPR
❖ Choking
❖ Meningitis
❖ Head and spinal injuries
❖ Anaphylaxis
❖ Asthma

Part of mitigating the effects of an incident at a bulk storage or process facility is being prepared for even the most unlikely of events. Dealing with Paediatric First Aid may not feel like a priority in an adults-only work environment – but there are always visitors, contractors and civilians in the vicinity, we cannot exclude children from the safety equation. Also, this qualification prepares learners who are parents for any incidents that may happen in their homelife.
