An oil storage facility in the Texas town of Gillett was rocked by an explosion on Tuesday which left one man injured.
Traffic came to a temporary standstill as Karnes County Sheriff’s Office closed down a stretch of Highway 80 whilst firefighters brought the blaze under control.
The injured worker is thought to have been inspecting the tank when it exploded.
He was promptly airlifted to a medical facility in San Antonio.
Authorities are trying to determine what caused the blast.
