A fire broke out at an oil reserve in the Irkutsk region’s Angarsk on August 21st, forcing the evacuation of 300 employees.

Reports suggest that a storage tank containing around 5,000 cubic meters of crude oil caught fire at a site operated by the company Diteco.

It is believed to have taken firefighters more than a day to extinguish the flames which engulfed the site.

There are no reports of deaths and local officials stressed that the fire posed no threat to the general population.
