The Health and Safety Executive has issued updated guidance to businesses on information pertaining to the control of substances that are hazardous to the health of workers.
Revisions to the HSE’s Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) simplify advice to help duty holders comply with the legal requirements of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
The guidance is aimed at:
- Management
- Supervisory staff
- Safety representatives
- Technical specialists

The review of the Workplace ACOP followed initial recommendations by Professor Ragnar Löfstedt in his report ‘Reclaiming Health and Safety For All’.
The revised publication was subject to consultation and received HSE Board and ministerial approval.
