Safety concerns discovered at Dutch storage firms

Over 75% of Dutch-based firms which store inflammable and dangerous chemicals in over ground tanks are failing to follow the rules, according to new research by the Dutch social affairs ministry.

The report contained feedback from inspectors at around 93 different tank storage companies who reported problems at 73 of them.

Whilst the majority of the 323 problems were not considered ‘serious’, the Dutch ministry research identified high risk infringements at four locations which require immediate action.
