An explosion and fire has ripped through a sweet factory in northern Mexico leaving at least one person dead and dozens more injured.
Fire crews and about 30 ambulances arrived at the scene where reports suggest a boiler exploded.
In comments reported by the BBC, Ciudad Juarez civil protection director, Fernando Mota, said firefighters discovered a body and that six of those injured were in a serious condition.
“We’re still searching the area to see if there are more dead,” he added.
Worried relatives anxiously awaited news of factory workers
About 300 people were believed to be in the Dulces Blueberry factory, in Ciudad Juarez, at the time.
Ciudad Juarez resides in the state of Chihuahua on the border with the US state of Texas.
